Our one year old female, Dixie, has been experiencing the usual round of asymtomatic symptoms: lethargy, weight loss, grinding and a little spaciness, but has quickly worsened over the past few days.

We have already taken her to a vet for blood work (he suspects insulinoma) and are waiting results.

Since visiting the vet this Friday she has started to scare us. Now she is completely listless, has irrgular breathing, and we have had to force feed her (and force hydrate her). She also has the somewhat annoying habit of hiding away in a tight ball so we can't find her (our other ferrets would do this when they were *really* sick and close to the end).

Does anyone out there have any ideas? She is so young. She has alwyas been crazy and a bit skiddish, so we think maybe gastric ulcers? Any ideas would be very well received ...thanks!
