I was present at a non-ferret knowledgable vet clinic when a friend's ferret was having a seizure. The vet didn't know what was going on. I managed to convince the vet to give the ferret sugar. About 3 minutes later, the ferret was out of the seizure and they did an in-house glucose test. It was 55. I asked about the blood work that was sent to the lab the day before. They called and got results. It was 19.
The ferret had *not* had seizures while the glucose was that low. I was astonished that the ferret was seemingly fine with that reading.
