I don't know about anyone else's view, but it seems to me giving
answering ferret health questions is what the list is for. (No, I'm not
one of the moderators.) It seems to me all your posts were appropriate
and, if you have more questions, more posts would be. (Moderartors? Is
that so?)

This all makes sense to me. Give the meds a chance to work. The only
exception I would make is if Melissa had acute symptoms: seizure,
zoning out (non-responsive), etc..

I agree that's something you may not want to do long term. Have you
talked to your vet about surgery? What was her feeling about that?
Insulinoma surgery can allow your ferret to be symptom free for anywhere
from a few months to a year or two without meds. Three of my ferrets
have had the surgery and it really does help them. I know I'm not alone
in my feelings. I know I've said this before, but read the archives and
see what the vets have to say.
