Seven has popped with another palate sore as she has periodically done with her more and more decreased heart function. This one is the worst one she has had; she isn't even eating as much as we'd like and we're having to give the food by a little bottle (not forcing, it's just that eating that way is sometimes easier for ones with mouth pain so then we hold the bottle up high and when they choose to lick we give a tiny sqeeze to the bottle -- a slow process). The Carafate isn't enough with this one to give comfort.

We called to ask her vet if Cloraseptic might be safe but he isn't sure about the phenol so he told us to try a little Listerine on a cotton swab. We did that and almost immediately she stopped the tongue smacking and acted as if she was quite a bit more comfortable.
