When this is occasional then it is normal. When it is pronounced
then adrenal neoplasia is considered so be on guard for the other
possible symptoms such a growth including swollen vulva, bilateral
fur loss on the trunk limbs or head, etc.

You mentioned short legs? How short? Are they extremely short legs
relative to body and head size? The reason that i ask is because we
have had a ferret whose breeders were trying for long and luxurious
coats and for short faces but they didn't realize that these features
can also go along with some forms of dwarfism. In her case she had
what the vets diagnosed as being achrondoplasic dwafism which over
time caused her to have painful joints. Massage helped her with that
a great deal and aas a result also helped her temperament. In case
your little one is similar (not likely but just in case) do keep
gentle massage in the back of your mind.
