Just an idea to check out. My Pigs had the grinding teeth NOT accompanied by tarry stool as well. My vet was treating her for a stomach ulcer and I was not seeing improvement so I thought long and hard and opened her mouth one day and looked in the back and she had mouth ulcers not stomach ulcers. I showed it to my vet promptly and we began treating her for mouth ulcers with pepcid. Maybe take a look inside there - just a thought.

I am not a Vet...just a ferret momma who's been there and back with these babies..

She also has the somewhat annoying habit of hiding away in a tight ball so we can't find her (our other ferrets would do this when they were *really* sick and close to the end).
