Sometimes, ferrets just don't get along. Provided
there is no medical condition causing one to act
aggressively with the others, the aggressive ferret
may feel that she needs to "defend" her place in the
group. To help her with this, make sure you give the
more aggressive ferret lots of individualized
attention (out of sight of the others) and love, and
provide a safe, secure place for her to sleep that the
others cannot reach (I know this is very hard, but it
makes all the difference in the world). This will
greatly alleviate stress caused by pack hierarchy
disputes. One commonly overlooked symptom of stress
is fur loss on the bottom (underside) of the tail,
caused by the ferret biting it off or pulling it out
from stress. You may want to check your ferrets for
this symptom.
