We have had a few 5 year olds have this occur. Truthfully we had them
surgically removed the only bother was stitch removal. There was no
recurrence and no further presentation ( actually lived to be 8&9 years) .
Seeing how the anal area is very open to irritation from inflammation &
infection -- I personally feel this is the best course of action. Perhaps
the vets will have better information though.
