We are saying goodbye to our princess Merry this weekend. Merry aka
Meriadoc is our 2.5 year old PV sable girl that has lymphoma. She has
relapsed and we will have to help her pass soon. We spent the
weekend cuddling and trying to get a little food into her. She is starting
to have trouble drinking today. Tonight she ate a little more for me. I
can see her eyes are so tired. She is trying to eat for me and she's
being very brave. The oncologist saw Merry on Fri. and said that the
relaspse can't be reversed. We're very sad. Merry can still come out of
the cage on her own and still walks to the litter and still shows such
spirit. But we think it's time...it's so hard to know.
We'll be deciding tomorrow to help her pass. My boyfriend will have to
take her as I have to work. This is the hardest thing for me, I've never
lost a ferret before. My heart's breaking.
I'll be in touch and let everyone know. Thanks for all of you who took the
time to help us when Merry was diagnosed in June. The support and
comfort I received was overwhelming. Thanks. Trish ~ Merry, Pippin &
Zira
[In such a sad situation sympathy notes are appreciated, just , please,
remember that if there is no health content then such messages must be
sent privately rather than posted. Merry gave this disease a valiant fight
with her chemo. -- Moderator]
