By the time this is read you will have no doubt gotten test results.
But I thought I would ask - where in the cage were the ferrets? High
or low? My limited understanding is that carbon monoxide travels up -
it is better to place a detector on the top of a dresser etc. to warn
you before the ceiling fills up and the room fills up top to bottom. I
would think that even a hammock at the top of a 36" high cage isn't
much higher than a human bed or crib.
Good luck, this sounds very strange. Is it at all possible that a dog
could have caused internal injuries and they expired after they crawled
into the cage?
