i have now seen the ferrets; they're here (in the fridge) awaiting autopsy hopefully in the morning. dr. williams, minnie is indeed cherry red at her nose, gums, etc. i mean BRIGHT red. but she's also the critter who bled a great deal. her lower body is covered in blood and her hammie was soaked through to dripping with fresh blood. there was blood at both ends of her; hard to tell how much from each end. she had also vomited what looks like food. is it indeed possible for her to have bled so much from CO poisioning? is there any way to test her tissues to prove or disprove if this potentially further devastating danger to the household was indeed at fault?
the dogs and ferrets shared a room, but only for cage time. foster mom and i went through all sorts of possible ideas and came up with absolutely nothing. nothing would have been able to get into the food, water or cage. we're stumped!!!
