Subject: Insulinoma/Diarrhea

I have a five yr. old who was recently diagnosed with Insulinoma, he also has a very bad case of diarrhea which my Vet is having trouble getting under control.
The main problem is trying to get Metronidazole into him in any dosage (without it decorating my walls and rug).
He is currently on Pred. and my Vet (who does not have a great deal of experience ferret wise, but is open to all suggestions), is looking for another med. which may help him out. Any ideas??
The diarrhea remains undiagnosed, no parasite activity, and it does not respond to the Pred dose which is currently at 1mg/q12.
