Ferrets that get enough exercise are not overweight
unless there's a medical reason. Unless there's a
thick pad of fat under the skin, or a pronounced pear
shape, the number on the scale isn't significant.
Causes of weight gain are usually water retention due
to any number of medical causes, including heart
problems, or adrenal disorder (less common, but
definitely happens - can be fat in the abdomen, chest
cavity, and around lymph nodes).
