Dear friends,
A couple questions. I have a little guy who has multiple problems, one being
insulinoma. I had been feeding him turkey baby food but switched to Bob
Church's chicken gravy. Since, he is not as active and one day started
straining to urinate. Went to Dr. who was going to send us to the Uof GA for
a catheter, but there was still a urine flow (and he had been on antibiotics
for his teeth for two days at that point), so he sent us home and his
urinating has gotten better. I was wondering, we had a cat recently become
blocked. We had been feedng him a very high quality cat food (have 6 cats and
were having some problems with throwing up in a couple) but had recently
switched to a holistic food. The vet said that even though both are good
foods, when you switch it can throw off their ph balance and cause problems
like this. Can that happen to ferrets? And, I put the honey and ferretvite in
the chicken gravy. Should I not have? This little guy has had insulinoma for
some time, and although his BG had gone from in the 50's for many months, to
104 and month ago and 81 two weeks ago, it's back to 50. Can't operated
again because of 3rd degree AV heartblock. Could that sugar in the gravy be
causing problems?
As always, many thanks for responses.

PS All three of our kids LOVE Bob Church's chicken gravy.
