This isn't adding up - a needle full of blood from a rapid swelling is not =
a =
bad thing - it could be a hematoma, a mucocele from a ruptured salivary =
gland, or something else.=A0 Cancer is usually a solid mass, and there is v=
ery =
little blood.=A0 I'd ask the vet what they saw under the microscope that le=
d to =
a diagnosis of "cancer".
What about excising the mass and getting a pathologist to look at it...
Dear DR Williams, thank you for noticing my post. =
The vet did not look at anything under a microscope. I think and feel that=
=
he considered her age, the fact that we had taken a growth off of her ear a=
=
year ago, and she has another one in her ear that is just starting. He did=
=
state this somehow these tumors that he keeps taking off her are all relate=
d =
to this current situation. =
I think he just does not feel there is anything that can be done other than=
=
some meds. I asked him about removing the whatever this is, and he said th=
at =
that is not an option due to her age and the fact that there are so many =
things there in the neck he said it would probably kill her. =
I asked him about possibly aspirating more fluid out of it and he said that=
=
he could not do that as that may kill her. =
At the time he did not know about the blood in the urine as I did not know =
=
about it until like I had said in my previous post, they lined up in protes=
t =
from me taking them to the vet and peed on the kitchen floor. All three of=
=
them in a row. Bria's puddle was very pink. That is when I first discover=
ed =
that this was happening at all. =
Now, for some odd reason, the vet felt, well he gave me the attitude kind o=
f =
like he found it hard to believe that this mass had formed in a few days. =
I =
am positive that it did though, and told him this and he still felt that it=
=
had been there for a few weeks. =
I am to call him in a week's time and let him know how she is doing. I do =
=
think the meds he put her on are helping some as she seemed a bit more =
chipper yesterday. =
IS there anything else you could possibly suggest DR Williams? Thank you s=
o =
much for taking the time to reply to me. =
It always amazes me how you and the other vets on this list make and find t=
he =
time to help us all out. =
By the way, Bria is on Pediapred, and he put her on Clindicure. =
Sincerely, Tina
