My vet put my ferret on Clindamycin for her teeth. I had her on for 2 days and she steadily improved. At 6 days she had her teeth cleaned. I was ready to help her over the bridge she was so bad off and now we are on Day 14 of the Clindamycin. I use less of this than I did the Amoxi or Clavamox, so it is easier to get it all down her. She hates it, though.

And, not to debate the bacteria issue, but the vet also suggested giving her yogurt due to the Clindamycin.

Getting home, my current vet said the Clavamox would work too. So, it appears there are options for you.
