Dear Friends,

My Oscar has adrenal problems, insulinoma and 3rd degree AV Heartblock.

For the adrenal: 1 month lupron shot, still dribbles and strains, but goes

For the insulinoma: 10mg pred, 5mg 2x a day, developing pred belly

For the heart: Enalipril, once a day, Aminophylline, twice a day

My question; Out vet was hesitant to try the proglycem because of the
contraindications with heart problems. However, I think he's willing now
should we go that route. I'm wondering about the fluid retention. I know that
fluid in the lungs can be caused by heart problems. Would the pred possibly
cause that, or is that simply a symptom of the heart problems when it occurs?
Other than with xrays (we had some done a week ago and everything looked
good) how do we know if there is fluid retention? And how do you know if it's
affecting the lungs? We go today for bloodwork and an ekg.

Oscar is eating Bob Church's chiken gray like crazy, his poops look good and
he gets up a few times during the day and checks things out. I'm afraid to
change things if all is going well right now but have also read that pred can
be hard on the liver.

As always, thanks a million for your responses.
Sincerely,
Tiffany and Oscar
