I can't really comment on whether or not it'll cause a serious problem
with fluid in the lungs. I've had ferrets with heart problems and ferrets
on proglycem, but oddly, not both at the same time...

Anyway, you will know if there is fluid in the lungs. Lethargy, then
faster breathing, then a distinctive wheeze/cough, possibly even
open-mouth panting. I'd suggest watching and counting a respiration rate
now - count breaths at rest (while sleeping is easiest) for 30 seconds or
so and multiply by 2 for the breaths per minute. Then, if the breathing
starts to pick up, you can count again and compare it to the rate you took
before the medication started. Lasix shots work great and very fast, if
there is a problem...
