Is the ferret also passing very dark feces?

Grinding often is a sign of nausea, with things like ulcers or insulinoma being possible causes. Does it happen any time other than while he is eatting?

If it is happening only while he is eating the possibility also exists that he might have troouble eating it due to a dental problem.

It would make sense to get a vet check-up.
