If you can get some Petromalt or other petroleum-jelly based sort of cat
or pet laxative in, that might help too. Most pet supply stores will have
this if none was left for you while you ferret-sit. Heck, even plain
petroleum jelly like vaseline is relished by many ferrets, especially if a
little Ferretone is mixed in.

I suspect it'll be OK, but of course you should still watch. One of my
first ferrets had an intense love for chewing gum. I noticed strange
"sparkly" poops and eventually figured out she was swiping gum from my
coat pockets or purse and eating it, foil wrapping and all. sigh! No
harm ever came from that, and hopefully the foil on the chocolate candy
will be the same. She also snitched little bits of chocolate a time or
two and never had any ill effects (but I don't recommend sweet treats).
Her name was Sunny and she taught me a lot about ferret-proofing. :)
