I just checked the archives for this type of disease and it does not
look promising for answers.
Can anyone give me any advice on what I should feed a ferret diagnosed
with this disease? Or anything else that I can do to improve his
condition?
Gadget is presently on a hypoallergenic food that is giving him severe
diarrhea. We have had to mix it with baby food (chicken with broth) and
a little Boost (added protein version) and it helps, but he is losing
weight and looking pretty shabby in his coat.
He underwent an adrenal surgery last month and it was then that the vet
discovered that his liver did not look right. Lab results came back with
cirrhosis of the liver. Gadget seems depressed and is not as active as
he usually is. We noticed that in this past year, he had not gained his
usual winter weight.
We don't want to lose him if there is any chance we can help him. Any
advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
