Hi, All --
This group was recommended to me by a fellow member of
another ferret group I belong to.
I'm having a bit of trouble getting my five year old
insulinomic boy, Roy, to eat his kibble food. He does
not like canned food, but will eat baby food. The
problem with that is, he then gets diarrhea from
having no solid food. He is losing weight... any
suggestions on how to fatten him up w/out the diarrhea
side affect?
Also, his eyes have both became cloudy. One is worse
than the other, and our vet said that that eye has a
corneal ulcer, but both are getting cataracts. Can
cataracts come on so suddenly? I asked the vet, but he
didn't seem to have an answer: is blindness a
byproduct of insulinoma, what with the swings in blood
sugar and insulin levels? Roy can still see, but his
vision does seem to be affected.
Thanks,
Staci
