Addendum to Gadget...

I haven't heard anything in regards to cirrhosis of the liver thus far,
so I will keep posting until I do...

We have decided to supplement him with a product called Denosyl SD4
which is suppose to increase appetite, attitude and his activity level.
The smallest dosage we can give is a whole pill as it cannot be crushed
or cut due to the inefficacy of the product once it hits the stomach
acid. It has to be given whole which is hard because the pill is a fair
size for a ferret. It is known to be helpful for dogs and cats, but I
can find no literature on its use in ferrets.

This link has a write up on the product:

In doing some web searches, I came across one article that suggested
using Hill's l/d but also their k/d food as well because of the quality
of the protein contained within.

If anyone has used this product in ferrets, or could comment on it,
could you please let me know. I am afraid we're going to lose him sooner
than later...

for the love of ferrets
