Subject: refusal to eat

Recently I began to notice a change in my 4 year old ferret. When I examined him i felt somthing hard in his belly.I went to the store and bought hairball remedy figureing he might have ate something and it was stuck in his stomache. The next day i checked his stool and found an enormus hairball. After passing the hariball my ferret still refuses to eat and he just isn't acting the same. I've kept giving him the hairball remedy and its been about a week now. Can he just be stubborn or scared to eat? Should i take him to my vet? Any help would be greatly appreciated .
