Well, my Bria Anne, passed away in my arms Thursday Feb. 20, 2003. We are
all very overcome with sadness at this point and miss her terribly. But
beyond us humans and our pain we are dealing with. My Jasper has really gone
down hill since Bria passed away. Jasper was simply in love with Bria. I am
convinced of it. He was always at her side, and he is not her cage mate.
Bria was never caged and there was never a need for it in the nine years that
we had her. This is unusual to say the least but Bria was just that way.
Anyway, Jasper was, when out of his cage, always by her side. Since her
passing, he won't eat, he sleeps far too much and shows very little interest
in playing. When I let him out of his cage, he goes searching for his
beloved Bria. I have given him extra attention, and extra love, but it does
not seem to be enough. It has been just one week and I am very concerned.
He will eat if I really urge him to, but that is the only time. I even
thought possibly the new bag of food was bad, so I bought a second bag and
still no luck. He will eat baby food if I give him that, but even then I
have to urge him to eat. He goes in the ferret play room and searches the
dresser over and over again, as this is where Bria slept. He just looks up
at me with this look in his eyes and then he puts his little head down and
just mopes around. I pick him up and he just snuggles up but you can almost
feel the sadness in him. Is there anything I should be doing extra other
than the extra attention and love? If this keeps up I am going to call my
vet. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
Sincerely, Tina.
Proudly owned by Jasper and Lucy and missing our beloved Bria Anne.
