While a high gammaglobulin level is associated with ADV, there are other things that will cause the gammaglobulin level to be above normal. The gammaglobulins are part of the immune system, and any prolonged infection can raise their levels.
IBD will frequently cause the gammaglobulins to be high, also. I have a ferret with IBD who is ADV-. She has higher gammaglobulin levels then most of my remaining ADV+ ferrets.
Since you mention that he is not eating well, has lost weight, and is grinding his teeth, have you and your vet considered a GI problem.
I am not a vet, but a ferret owner with ADV+ ferrets and ferrets with IBD. I hope this information is helpful.
