Subject: Sneezing ferrets
Message-ID: <21914392.1046626600114.JavaMail.root@scandium>
Three of my five ferrets have been sneezing a lot the last couple of days, they don't seem ill, more like a human with hay fever. They will stop a couple of times an hour and let loose 7 or 8 eight sneezes in a row with very little clear discharge. In addition, I have a cat that I take to cat shows, though he is vaccinated for everything, about a week after his last show he began sneezing, big wet sneezes. His lasted about three days and then 2 of my ferrets started, the next day another. These ferrets are 2 years of age and youger, my 2 6 year olds seem to not be affected. Is there any chance there is a connection between the cat and the ferrets? I did not think ferret could get any cat infections and I cannot think of anything in the house that would cause this. I have had ferrets for 8 years and never seen anything like this. I appreciate any input.
