I too have an adrenal boy (who has had two previous surgeries) whose
coat has grown back (mostly). He has some thin spots but this is a
triumph considering he was pretty bald before. He only has about a
quarter of a gland left so some of his symptoms (very itchy, ear
sucking) have not subsided. I'm always sure to check on him and give
him a good "ferret mommy" scratching as he so enjoys this. Today I
noticed that his skin is flaky so I am using a cool mist humidifier a
few feet from the cage today. As well, I have been given advice on this
subject before and you could also give a warm bath using the Aveno
oatmeal (it's extremely a fine consistency and washes off completely).
The oatmeal base (non-drying) soothes itchy skin and would provide some
temporary relief. You may try and also if you notice very dry spots you
can rub, try Calendula Flower Oil (sold in most vitamin stores, cheap to
buy and can be ordered on line, all natural and non-harmful if the
ferret licks it up). (Even if the directions say you can add it to
their water, I've never tried this, the advice I received was to rub it
on their dry irritated skin)

I'm sure many on the list will have suggestions these are just mine. I
