Subject: RE: High Proteins Negative ADV and Questions

Thank you for your responses. We had a bad night Friday and my ferret was vomiting, so Saturday we went to the vet. The vet looked at the stool sample and saw the digested blood in it and checked him out real good and thinks his colon is inflamed and probably an ulcer. So he got a shot if anti-inflammatory and started on amoxi and flagyl and just hours later he was doing so much better. He's not eating regular food yet on his own, but he's eating soup and baby food and gaining weight back.

I reviewed his blood results again with the vet while we were there and he said that everything related to the organs was in normal range. The parts of the blood test relating to the liver were a little high, but not out of the high end of normal. The CBC I think it was showed him to be slightly anemic but he said that with the digested blood in his stool that could be why the numbers were low. The gamma percentage of proteins was 70%. He's still with me hoping it's not ADV but he says that he's never seen such high numbers on gamma proteins and not be ADV. So we'll be awaiting the results from the U of Ga.

Thanks again!

Linda
