Hi Everyone,
About a week ago I wrote about Pepper and how I though she
might have E.C.E. (got it right this time), well as it turns out my
ignorance could have cost her life. My Vet. was following my line of
thinking only to have Pepper continue to go down hill. Last Tuesday
afternoon I brought her to the Animal Hospital, not expecting her to live
much longer. The Vet. ran a series of blood tests and found out that
there was a problem with her Liver. The enzymes had skyrocketed and the
proteins in her blood were real low. I am now thinking if we would have
followed up on Henry in the same manner, he might still be with us. I
know that Dr. Williams monitors this forum am I'm hoping that he might
have some insight as to what causes this, and if there is anything we
could to prevent it.
This afternoon we had the thrill of bringing Pepper home. Quite
the reunion,we were overjoyed to be able to have her back, and her four
partners in mischief went absolutely nuts. I don't think I have ever seen
so much prancing and dancing. Pepper absolutely hates the doses of
Metronidazole that she will be taking for the next five days. She is
eating much better, and putting on a little weight again, and her energy
level is improving by the day. It made us feel pretty good when the staff
at the hospital didn't want to let us have her back. It's wonderful to
know that there are so many dedicated professionals helping us try to
whats best for our fur kids. Our deepest appreciation goes out to them.
