Pepto kills bacteria? That's a new one on me - I'd sure like to have
it confirmed by one of the vets here.

Carafate bandages ulcers specifically, while Pepto is soothing to the
entire intact stomach. I would think that the Pepto would be your
best bet in this case unless your little guy is actually developing
(or still has) ulcers. The problem with it is that most ferrets
despise its taste - so trying to force it into them can cause stress,
which can mean even more GI upset and possibly stress-induced ulcers.

So that's my two cents - if he'll take the Pepto without a fuss, it's
probably the better solution for the moment. On the other hand, I
can't find anything that says you can't use both meds at the same
time.
