Subject: Length of quarantine period for newbie ferret

I am considering getting a girlfriend for CB but have some questions on the quarantine period necessary before I introduce the new one.
Whoever comes to live with us will come from a shelter (so if youâre near CT and have a little albino or light colored lady let me know!) and Iâve forgotten how long the quarantine period is. When CB came to live with us he did bring a âgiftâ with him that resulted in Butch and Maggie being hospitalized for 3 full days in the ferret equivalent of ICU.
Where do I quarantine the newbie and for how long? I would think that the new ferret in the apartment left in the bathroom would still spread the illness through the air and they would still get it.
Can someone explain the whole thing to me again since I guess I donât fully understand it.
Since I would want CB to pick out his new friend donât I run the risk of exposure bringing him up there to make his selection?
