Stool

I have read many places also about doing shots separately, and
discussed it
with my vet. At first he seemed to think it was a very good idea, and did
them separately. But after only 1 visit that way, this year he said he
sees no real reason to separate them. This has me a bit
concerned. Before, when they got their shots at 2 different times, all
went well, with no reactions. This year, when he did the shots together,
we had 3 ferrets react. 1 of them, my little girl Jamocha, not only threw
up and became VERY lethargic, but also went to the bathroom all over
herself including a puddle of blood. I'm not talking about a small spot of
poo with blood either, but literally a puddle the diameter of a softball or
bigger. We were holding her to keep a close eye on her, and looked
down to
see this puddle on the floor. I just about flipped out, and she was
treated immediately with Benadryl and dexamethasone. Luckily, we
ALWAYS
wait 30 minutes at the very least, and this happened while we were still
at
the vets office.

She bounced back quickly, but I was concerned about the blood loss.
That
was during a visit back in December, not this past time.

Since emailing you all last Thursday, everyone has had normal poop.
We
watched every ferret until we saw them go, and all were normal. We've
been
watching them all closely since, but haven't seen anything unusual.
After
talking with you all, I called my vet first thing Friday to explain what
happened. They said that since it wasn't happening anymore, that
someone
probably just ate something that didn't go over too well. They didn't
seem
to think that it was anything related to a reaction, but said if it
happened again and we knew who it was, to bring them in.

I'm not too sure what to think. I have my doubts that any of the ferrets
ate something they shouldn't have, since none of them have a habit of
doing
that, and everything in their room is their toys, bedding etc. Nothing
that they cannot have, and toys are inspected by us regularly.

What are anyone's thoughts on my vets opinion on shots and their idea
on
what the problem could have been?

Thanks for any help.
