This sounds like a drop in blood glucose, but not a seizure.

Everyone I know who has had their ferrets on pred long term have reported this and many even have a name for it: Pred belly.

Beasley was on pred long term (over 3 years) and went from 3.2 pounds to almost 5.5 pounds. They also seem to accumulate fat in the abdomen as they get older.
