I'm not sure that Kayopectate would work. The only time I can recall a vet mentioning it was for something entirely different and that was years ago -- so long that I can't recall what was said.
The liquid version of Carafate goes in easily. Ask your vet and pharmacist about that; it is also an excellent med for ulcerations.
I recall that Dr. Williams or one of the other FHL vets tackled the question long ago of meds given dermally and when and how they will or won't work. If you go to

It is usually easier and less stressful to use the Biaxin and Amoxi combo when treating for helicobacter than the Metronidazole, Amoxi, and Pepto one. With the latter the bismuth in the Pepto is part of the treatment given how it interacts with the rest of the approach.
