Another thing you may want to consider. By the description of symptoms,
"she has a small loss of appetite and she's been coughing and hacking like shes choking on her food, but she's never eating when she does it."
She may just be going through her spring shed and might have some fur in her throat. You may want to try some petromalt or something similar and see if that doesn't help. Otherwise, it never hurts to have her checked by a vet.
