Well, this is a health list so health problems do get discussed here.

Ferrets pack the experiences of life into about 1/10th the time that humans do, so things get concentrated.

Reading here is, of course, an excellent way to learn. Don't forget the FHL Complete Archives at he sonic-weasel site, either.

A fine resource for finding write ups on health problems is
http://www.ferretcongress.org
If you go to the Critical References section there you will find URLs of many useful websites, including the AFIP one of FHL co-moderator, Dr. Bruce Williams, and sites run by co-moderators Mike Janke and Pam Sessoms.

Some of the most common health problems are adrenal neoplasia, insulinoma, splenalomegaly, ECE, etc.

Do carefully save ahead for when medical care is needed in the future; there is great deal which can be done with proper care.

Oh, I think that there is an article on common ferret illnesses by Dr. Williams in the 2003 issue of "Ferrets Annual" if I recall the name properly so check at a local petstore to see if that is there and if I recall the magazine properly. Sorry, I'm a bit tired right now since it's approaching 1 in the morning, so not at my best, but this should help you get started.
