I'm blown away by the fact that this seems to be a common occurance, and
not for one but all sorts of possible reasons. So thus far we have:
1) learned behavior
2) the other adrenal may already have kicked into overload which may or may
not become a progressive thing like with the adrenal already taken out
3) the hormonse just may possibly still be "off"... Now Sukie did you say
that a lupron shot might be enough to level this out and it might be okay
there after?
4) in addition I learned that the ferret that is the fav humpee (and there is
one, he bothers no other ferret), could possibly be giving off estrogen and
be in the early stages of adrenal... and that is fascinating.
I doubt number four applies to me, you see the fav humpee has always
been the "omega" of the group if you will. He is a rescue, who has never
quite "fit" in with other ferrets, and is extremely passive (abnormally so).
But I'm still going to keep that in mind. We have one other ferret we are
keeping an eye on for adrenal to show up in the future (just a hunch). He
has picked on this same ferret much more than the others.
Oh boy, in any case, back to Laddie. What to think?! It's very
perplexing. I guess I can watch him closely, divert his attention, and hope
for the best with that other adrenal? Or should I consider a lupron shot?
Or should I consider giving him melantonin? I'm glad to see I'm not alone,
and suprised that I'm not. I'm just as perplexed as all of you to find out
that there may not be one easy answer, but several possibilities.
