first and foremost before contagions make sure stress will not be a factor!
I know of many many ferrets who get sick furing the grieving process when
other ferrets are introduced.
You need to observe the ferret and decide it is healthy and receptive to a
new intake-- THEN worry about illnesses!
If adopting form a shelter make sure it is an ECE free facility- the
ferret has been quarantined at least 15 days - has been ADV tested negative
and has all current shots---
