It is always important to get health information. This is true for several reasons:
1. Avoiding trouble.
2. Spotting trouble as soon as possible.
3. Learning about treatments.
4. Discovering that even those ferrets with terminal illnesses often have treatment options available to them.
4. Having enough information on board to assess what is said.
5. Finding a ferret-knowledgeable vet
6. Finding a vet who wants to learn, and getting resources from ferret-knowledgeable vets to that vet.
7. Avoiding passing a health problem to any other ferrets (including outside one's family

I am sure that others can think of more reasons.

While you are using http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/ferrethealth don't forget that it is more than posts, and never forget to link to archives and read, read, read.

You will also find that http://www.ferretcongress.org has a number of links not only for info for you, but info for vets by vets, and even links to the sources of two veterinary videos on treating ferrets (bt Dr Deborah Kemmerer of West End AH, and Dr. Charles Wiess of Bradley Hills AH. Oh, and in the archives I know there are mentions of assort veterinary texts on ferrets and how to get them to help vets, too.
