Danee,
Your Vet may be right on target about not vaccinating. What I
have read about A.D.V. is that it is a mutated strain of the Parvo-Virus
and that it caused the Ferrets immune system to build up antibodies to
try to fight it. The problem is that the virus isn't killed by the
antibodies and they keep building up in the Ferrets body and eventually
cause what ever organ or organs they collect in to fail causing death.
Vaccinating a infected Ferret might quite possibly cause these antibodies
to build at a greater rate than by A.D.V. alone. If you can get a copy of
Ferrets Magazine for March/April 2003 there is a very informative article
on A.D.V.
