On or thereabout 3/22/03, goreki@excite.com spoke thusly:

When Zan passed yesterday (Yes, after six months of fighting, he said
"Enough!" Thanks to everyone for their excellent advice. I only wish
I'd had a chance to put it to use), the surviving three girls coped
very well...

I adopted him about a year ago as a pair with little pesty Zoe (who
does not know that ferrets are natural burrowers... she climbs
everything, and apparently believes her kind were meant to live in
the treetops). The two of them grew up together, apparently, and were
very closely bonded.

We adopted Blitzie and Ziya within the next couple of months, and
everyone bonded really well over the year. As Zan became less active
the girls played more among themselves, and after his passing, the
girls seem to be up to business as usual today...

By adopting a third ferret now, all three could enjoy each other's
company for the time being, and the new one will no doubt be a great
comfort to Logan when it comes time for Fizzy to go. Besides, you can
never have too many! :-)
