I have a foster named Kyle and he is a wonderful 8 and half years old. He has had cardiomyopathy for lil over a year and has been suprising us with how many moons he has seen. To let you know the life he has lead I will start with he chipped his tooth last summer. We could not do anything except pain killers and antiobiotics to compfort him, it has recovered although gives him grief occassionally. Then about two months ago he had excessive blood in his runny stool. Figured to be irritated near the end. He was put on amoxicillan and sulcrafate for two weeks and it has worked but the blood does come back and we just do a few dosages of the sulcrafate to combat it.

The problem with Kyle is he has a abcest that has sprung up the last few days and his left side of his face has swelled. He is on an antibiotic, twice a day for it (we just started it today.) My question is there anything we can do for him if the antiobiotic does not reduce the swelling? Goin under is not an option because of his weak heart. I was suggested by the vet to compress heat on the swelling for about 20 minutes to drain the puss. Is there any other ideas to make him compfortable:(

He is precious to us and do not want him to suffer. He is eating regular food and was struggling so we have placed him on the chicken soup to ease the eating. Muscle tone has gone down is his back legs too. Weakness is there on slippery surfaces but seems to be more stable on the rug. I am concerned that he will get depressed and stop even trying...please help me with my lil man.

Sincerely Vex
