The bladder tends to be pretty far down, and if not full maybe
wouldn't be checked, also prostate is usually pretty small
and can't even be seen or felt in a normal ferret ( this is all
what I understand, I may be wrong I am not a vet)
Just ask the vet if he was able to evaluate if the prostate was
enlarged, or possibility of crystals, stone, or infection of
the bladder causing the problem peeing.

So, if the ferret has crystals or sludge in the bladder, or an
enlarged prostate an ultrasound may pick it up, whereas an exploratory
exam may not have. You can ask the vet if he
thinks an ultrasound would help see the bladder and prostate
better. A urinalysis may also show crystals, and a culture would
pick up infection. Possibly while he is still in the hospital
this can be collected, if not already done previously.

Some urinary stones could be picked up on a plain x-ray.
