I know I read something by a vet about noting an abnormal
amount of fat accumulation and correlation with something,
so although that info was useless, maybe someone remembers
this past post?

However, it may not be anything you did, just the physiology
of that ferret that tended to accumulate fat. If he is active, and
in pretty good shape, I wouldn't worry too much. If you note
a grossly obese ferret, I think that just like in all animals,
being overweight is not healthy. I would then look at exercise,
decreasing overall calories for the day, etc. You would do this
on a case by case basis, so two ferrets eating the same way
and the same activity level, one may be overweight and one
thin.

I also know seasonally they pack on some weight, I am sure
storing fat is normal to prepare for long winters in some
areas. So you may also be seeing a normal fat that is seasonal.
