This is about T-Touch but it will get back to ferrets at the bottom! :-)

IMHO, T-Touch is good, and I would definitely recommend its use. I'm no
scientist, and I know this is anecdotal evidence, but every experience I've
had with T-Touch has been positive. We've used it on our ferrets and our
cats, one of whom is extremely neurotic, with good results.

Also, my SO is a zookeeper. One of their New Guinea singing dogs has
arthritis in his spine, and it was very painful for him to even walk. A
T-Touch worker volunteered her time to come in and work with the dog. My
SO was as skeptical as everyone else, but within a few weeks the dog was
walking instead of hobbling, then running, jumping, etc. to greet
her. They decided to try it on the other dog, who is very shy and
skittish, and it does seem to relax her a great deal. She has come out of
her shell to some extent. I should point out that this is *obvious*
improvement, not just expectation or wishful thinking. I should also point
out that this was not going on in conjunction with any other treatments or
differences in handling for either of the dogs.

So back to Spaz, I would say it is *definitely* worth the effort to use
T-Touch. I know my experience is unscientific, and I'm no vet, but you
mentioned that it seemed to work to calm him the one time you used it, and
it is so gentle that you can't hurt him with it. In addition to calming
him, it *might* contribute to reducing his physical problems a little bit.
