I must second this. We have a ferret who has had cardiomyopathy for three
and a half years, and she is still going like the energizer bunny. She's 6
1/2 years old. When she was diagnosed at 3yrs old , we were told she had
six months at the most, and she didn't respond well to "just" enacard and
lasix. However, when we added digoxin, it was like a miracle. She
immediately became, for all appearances, a normal fuzzy again, and she's
still acting essentially normal now, this much later. She may end up dying
of something else in the end!
Digoxin is definitely the way to go, in combo with other meds. Treatment
can make (at least it has made in our case) a *huge* difference in both
quantity and quality of time.
