I just had Buster's insulinoma surgery - he is 5.5 years old, late alter. We
had 2 BG readings that were low - the first was 58, the last 61. When he was
opened up, the vet could not discern any nodules - so he removed part of the
pancreas and sent it away for pathology. He said the worst case scenario is
that the tumors are diffuse through the entire organ. I'm hoping that if it
is, that they will appear to be contained in the arm of the pancreas that was
removed.
In any case, we will learn how successful the surgery was this week when
Buster goes in for another BG test. I'm hoping for readings in/near the 100s.
