Hi all

I have a friend that has a ferret that has been ill (appetite down, letharg=
ic) for 3 days. Today a large mass was palpated in the abdomen. She rushe=
d him to the emergency vet who performed exploratory surgery. =

The ferret was found to have a large mass on the liver and it showed signs =
of metastasis throughout every lobe of the liver. She removed what she cou=
ld and sent out a sample for biopsy. She is thinking either adenocarcinoma=
or lymphoma. The rest of this 3 year old male ferret was normal (adrenals=
, pancreas, etc) =

He is now in recovery and the vet started him on metaclopramide, ab's, and =
pain killers. She does not want to start any pred b/c the chance that it c=
ould be an adenocarcinoma. =

It will take days to get the biopsy results back and unfortunately the path=
ologist is not ferret disease savvy.
Would it hurt to start pred? =

Any suggestions? =

Thanks!

Sue
