Dear Friends,
I need your input again. I have a little guy with insulinoma, adrenal, 3rd
degree AV heartblock and bad teeth. Now I have one with diabetes! I found out
that she was diabetic Saturday the 5th. At the vet that day she got an
insulin shot of 1unit Humulin U. I gave her another Sunday, 24 hours later.
Took her in today and left her. The Dr. gave her the 1 unit injection at 9am.
Shortly thereafter, her BG was 100. Mid day it was 55. 5PM it was 432. The
Dr. wants me to give her another 1unit injection tonight, then every 12 hours
from that point. Although I want to get her checked again mid week, just
because I'm scared, this seems that it will be harder to get under control
than all the other stuff my other little guy has, the Dr. said to monitor
things and come back next Monday. Of course I''ll go sooner if anything
happens. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I know there are others
with diabetics. Has anyone had similar circumstances that they got under
control? This just seems sooo up and down.
Thanks in advance for any help and info forthcoming. It is greatly
appreciated.
Most sincerely,
Tiffany, Slinky, Cindy and Oscar
